Virginia pegadinha – Instagram
Virginia Fonseca was the target of a prank by Repórter Coreano this Saturday (15), directly in the dressing room of Sabadou com Virginia, on SBT. The game took place in the Osasco studios, in São Paulo, moments before the recording of the weekly program. The reporter introduced himself as a foreign journalist, while a translator entered and left the room repeatedly, increasing the confusion. The scene aired on Sunday (16) and quickly went viral on the presenter’s Instagram at 9pm.
The influencer accepted the supposed exclusive interview without suspecting the production setup.
Prank structure with mobile translator
O quadro adaptou o formato clássico com uma novidade: a tradutora saía do camarim e retornava constantemenyou, claiming to fetch materials or answer calls. Each time he returned, he brought different and disconnected translations of the questions asked in Portuguese.
The reporter spoke normally in Portuguese but pretended to use Korean, while the translator repeated phrases like “he is asking about your makeup collection” for a simple greeting. Virginia followed along on the phone, trying to respond coherently to the distorted information.
The constant movement of the translator generated pauses and curious looks from the presenter, who even asked if everything was ok.
Virginia’s reaction during interruptions
Virginia kept her attention on the reporter, adjusting the phone with each return from the translator. At one point, the professional left for almost a minute, leaving the presenter alone with the “foreign journalist”.
When she returned, the translator brought a completely different translation to the previous one, making Virginia frown and smile without understanding. She continued to respond politely, talking about her recording routine and her family.
When the prank was revealed, Virginia burst into laughter, pointing to the door the translator had passed through so many times.
- The translator came and went at least six times in ten minutes.
- Each return brought different accessories, such as a notepad or cell phone.
- The production team positioned cameras at three angles to capture the comings and goings.
Technical assembly in reduced space
Sabadou’s dressing room with Virginia is around 18 square meters, with a lighted mirror, sofa and makeup table. The team installed lapel microphones and fixed cameras to record without interfering with the space.
The door was left ajar to facilitate the quick entrances of the translator, played by an actress hired by the production. The reporter used a wireless microphone to remain mobile during interruptions.
Technicians monitored everything on monitors in the hallway, adjusting audio in real time. The recording took place between 2:30 pm and 3 pm, before the official start of the program.
The editing highlighted the quick cuts of the comings and goings, creating a fast pace in the exhibition.
Reveal moment details
After the translator left, the reporter announced in clear Portuguese that it was a prank. Virginia took a few seconds to process, looking at the empty door.
Then she started laughing without stopping, hitting the table and covering her face. The team entered the dressing room applauding, and the presenter joked that she almost believed the international interview.
The complete recording lasted 12 minutes, with the reveal happening at 9 minutes.
Display and immediate impact
The excerpt was shown on Sunday (16) within Sabadou com Virginia, occupying the ab blockerture. The program recorded a peak in viewership during the prank’s airing.
Virginia published the video on her Instagram at 9:03 pm, with the caption “I fell straight”. The post surpassed 5 million views in less than two hours.
SBT also shared the scene on its official networks, expanding its reach beyond the traditional open TV audience.
