A 13-year-old teenager was executed by gunfire in the early hours of Monday (27) in Marabá, southeast Pará. Elias Brito de Oliveira was shot in the head on Avenida Maria Adelina, in the Liberdade neighborhood, by two men on a motorcycle. The incident occurred around 3:20 a.m., and the youth died at the scene, according to the Military Police report. Investigations suggest possible retaliation linked to the minor’s criminal history.

Witnesses reported that Elias was walking with two friends when the shooters approached. The companions fled unharmed, while the victim fell after being hit. The Civil Police opened an inquiry to identify those responsible and determine the motive.

The crime ended an 80-day streak without homicides in the Cidade Nova Nucleus, an area covered by the 34th Military Police Battalion.

  • Two men on a black Honda 160 motorcycle fired the shots.
  • Elias had turned 13 three days earlier, on October 24.
  • The teenager’s mother had reported a death threat to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Circumstances of the homicide in Marabá

The execution took place at the intersection of Avenida Maria Adelina and Travessa Planalto. Military Police teams isolated the perimeter shortly after the call. The Scientific Police conducted an on-site examination and removed the body to the Legal Medical Institute.

Two teenagers accompanying Elias escaped uninjured. They provided initial statements to the police, but details were withheld to avoid compromising the investigation.

The motorcycle used by the suspects fled toward the city center. No trace has been located by patrol units so far.

Criminal history of the teenager

Elias had over 20 police records for juvenile offenses. The cases involved thefts, robberies, and drug possession from a young age.

In December 2024, security camera footage showed the minor assaulting a woman with a flying kick during a robbery. The images went viral on social media and gained attention in Marabá.

The family sought protection from the Public Prosecutor’s Office after the incident. A death threat report was filed to safeguard the youth.

Previous homicide attempt

In February 2025, Elias survived a similar attack. He was shot but sustained minor injuries, allowing quick recovery.

Police investigated the case as a possible settling of scores in the criminal underworld. No suspects were arrested at the time.

The mother reported increased hostility after the robbery video. Protective measures were requested, but the crime occurred despite the warnings.

Assault captured on robbery video

The December incident happened in the early morning on a busy street in Marabá. Elias dismounted from a bicycle ridden by an accomplice and delivered the kick to the victim’s back.

The woman fell, and her bag was stolen. The minor continued with kicks to ensure the group’s escape.

The footage was analyzed by police at the time. The case led to the teenager’s presentation to the competent authority.

Involvement in crimes from an early age

Police records indicate juvenile offenses starting at age 11. Home and business thefts were frequent in the neighborhood.

Pedestrian robberies accounted for half of the incidents. Drug possession appeared in nighttime stops.

The Marabá Homicide Division coordinates the search. Intelligence teams monitor escape routes in the southeast region.

Family protection measures

Elias’s mother contacted the Public Prosecutor’s Office in July. The complaint detailed verbal threats from local rivals.

Social agents assessed family risk. Reintegration programs were suggested, but participation was limited.

The report aimed at inclusion in a protection network. Authorities confirm the protocol followed legal procedures.

Ongoing Civil Police investigation

Experts collected projectiles and tire marks from the asphalt. Ballistic analyses continue at the state laboratory.

Neighbor statements were gathered on Tuesday. Information about the motorcycle circulates in internal bulletins.

The Homicide Division prioritizes the case due to the victim’s age. Collaboration with the 34th BPM speeds up procedures.
